Nursing Department – Shift Nursing
Job Description:
As a Pediatric Shift Nurse at RNS Health Care, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, in-home care to pediatric patients within York Region. You will work closely with the families to ensure the well-being of children while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor and assess the patient’s condition and vital sign (i.e. monitor for seizure, suctioning, O2 sat monitoring).
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and update individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Educate parents and caregivers on pediatric care and disease management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

What you will need to Succeed:
- Registered and in good standing with CNO.
- Experience in community nursing, and pediatric care is considered an asset.
- Chest X-ray or Negative Mantoux Test/TB Test completed within the past two (2) years.
- Vulnerable Sector Police Records Search – completed within the last six (6) months.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification (CPR).
Other Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation; this includes a valid Ontario Driver’s License and auto insurance
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
