Nurse Lead Supervisor – Maternity Leave Contract (1 year contract)

About the Role: 

As a Nurse Lead Supervisor, you will be reporting to the Client Services Manager and will be responsible for the return to work program coordination while working with WSIB. You will take the lead on training and education planning, supporting the overall function of the Home support and client services team.  Conduct company orientation with PSW, available for on-call rotation and provide vacation and sick day coverage when needed

A day to day look of the Role:

  • Contacts the employee to inform them of the Modified Work Program
  • Review accident history and follows up with supervisor, employee and client to ensure accurate information has been provided.
  • Review and follow-up with supervisors to ensure timely, appropriate accident investigationsand follow through on corrective action has been taken
  • Work with employee to assess restrictions and/or limitations
  • Inform the supervisor/manager of the work restrictions/limitations and identifies jobs the
    employee is capable of performing
  • Assess the employee’s work capabilities in conjunction with medically-supported restrictionsand/or limitations provided by the appropriate health care provider(s)
  • Contacts WSIB when necessary to clarify physical restrictions and ensure the employee isreceiving and participating in appropriate treatment as necessary
  • Co-ordinate the modification of the work or workplace, as needed, in conjunction with
    medically-supported restrictions/limitations
  • Develop written Modified Work Plan and provides a copy to the supervisor, manager, WSIB andthe employee
  • Maintains regular contact with the employee, supervisor/manager and the WSIB for the
    duration of the Modified Work Program until the employee has returned to full regular duties
  • Work closely with Client Services Manager and the Human Resources Manager to develop an education plan and training material with a focus on Personal Support Workers
  • Conduct PSW Mandatory Company Orientations – reviewing and updating the content as
    necessary
  • Participate in clinical on-call rotation, act as Supervisor of the Day, Participate as a Certified Member of the JHSC
  • Accurately monitor, track and follow-up on all occurrences, QRS and ETMS data
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

What you will need to Succeed:

  • Completion of Bachelor`s degree in Nursing and registration as a Registered Nurse with CNO in good standing
  • Community nursing and/or leadership experience is required
  • Extensive knowledge and experience providing nursing care to medically complex clients
  • Leadership experience in a clinical setting is required
  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing people to achieve a “safety first” culture
  • Results orientated, able to work as part of a multi-functional team and/or independently as needed
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Computer knowledge of MS Office, Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Commitment to providing the highest level of customer service and client care
  • Knowledgeable in Health & Safety and WSIB principles and practices
